Prayers

Xander's prayers always go a little something like this...

Xander: "Heavenly Father, thank you for this day. Please bless us **this is where he either says something that we did that day (ie - go to Hailey's house, go to the park, etc), or if we didn't do anything or he can't remember what we did, he will start asking us if we are going to go somewhere**"

Mommy: We're not going anywhere. Just finish your prayer.

Xander: "Please bless baby sister, Mommy, Daddy, Xander. Mumble, mumble, mumble. (He mumbles something at this point in the prayer EVERY time, that we have yet to figure out what it is he is saying.) Name of Jesus Christ, Amen."

Lil Update

A lil' of what Lil is up to...

she has her two front bottom teeth

she army crawls, fast

she gives kisses

she waves

she stands when holding onto something (but she can't pull herself up yet)

she pulled an I-swear-she-just-said the other day when she seemed to copy Brian saying "Thank You Dada"

she can sign "I'm finished" when she is full

we're pretty sure she is left-handed (so much so, that sometimes I wonder if her right hand is working)... she waves, eats, reaches, etc all with her left hand

*TEAM* hide-and-go-seek

For Family Home Evening tonight, we played hide-and-go-seek (in teams of course). It was me and Lil on a team, and Brian and Xander on a team. Xander loved it! Except for the time we hid in the closet and Xander opened the closet door not expecting us to actually be in there, and I squealed in delight of him finding us, and scared him. I keep seeing his face when I scared him. I kinda felt like the monster on Monsters, Inc. at the beginning when he comes out of the closet and scares the kid and the kid screams and scares the monster back. I felt so bad. Then during their next turn of finding us, Xander said "I don't want to find Mommy cause she will scare me". Oooops!

Teeth

Lil got her first tooth (bottom right) just before spring break! She's working on the next one (bottom left). So hopefully these sleepless-nurse-thru-the-night-or-cry-cry-cry nights will be over soon, and she will have a beautiful jack-o-lantern smile. Sorry, no pictures. It's hard to get a good one of a mini-tooth in a moving baby who just wants to eat the camera. They tend to just look like a shiny, pink blob in the picture.

Happy Spring!

Dontcha just love my new blog layout? It reminds me of the blossoms that bloom on the trees here before the green comes back. I almost like the flowers in spring better than the leaves in summer. (They do tend to trick me in the morning when I look out the window and think the trees are covered in snow.)

CRAWLING... kinda

Just days before her 8 month birthday, Lil crawled! Well, kinda crawled. My kids prefer to just drag their bodies across my dirty floors, instead of lifting their little bellies up. I think it's because it gives them a better angle to see all the little crumbs and small toys on the floor for them to pick up and eat or choke on.

She really has been moving herself around the house nicely (by rolling and spinning on her belly) up until she learned how to pull herself forward. She almost "crawled" in NH for the first time... so I had to go shopping all day so she wouldn't have any floor time to figure it out (that would've been bad since Daddy was in UT and didn't want to miss it). I did find some good finds at Marden's though!

NH Children's Museum

When we went to NH for Spring Break, we had some fun with William and Bethie. We went to the new Children's Museum near the old pool I used to dive at. Xander and William had a blast!

The magnet table.

Cooking in the kitchen. Love the apron, William! Hey Xander, want some cheese?
At the Children's Museum, there was this cool exhibit where you stood in front of this green screen and danced to some music, and you showed up on the tv in a scene from a parade in a foreign country (thus the silly vest and shoes).

We need to get out more...

Xander just stood next to me while I checked everyone's blogs. While I read everyone's posts about what they did over Spring Break, Xander looked at all the pictures and said "I want to do that.... (and listed off everything that everyone was doing in the pictures)".

Bargaining Man

While shopping in Target the other day:

Mom: Ok, Xander, when we leave here, we are going to go home and go straight to bed.

Xander:  Maybe when we get home we can watch 5 minutes of VeggieTales Movie?

Mom: I think that would be ok.

Xander:  We can watch 10 minutes of VeggieTales Movie.

Mom:  No.  We can watch 5 minutes.

Xander:  How about 8 minutes?

Ice Cream Shortage

Warning:

The McDonald's in the Philadelphia area are experiencing an ice cream shortage.

Don't waste your time going to one for a cone, or a sundae, or a flurry, or a milkshake.
